Work Zone Equipment Packages

Applications are now open for 2026–2027

Does your highway or public works department need new or replacement work zone equipment?

The NYS LTAP Center – Cornell Local Roads Program is now accepting applications for the 2026–2027 Work Zone Equipment Package Program. Through funding from the Governor’s Traffic Safety Committee (GTSC), selected New York State highway and public works departments will receive equipment to help crews set up safer, more effective work zones.

Who should apply?

The program is intended for New York State highway and public works departments that are in need of work zone equipment, including departments that have had equipment lost, damaged, or otherwise need additional equipment to safely set up work zones.

Departments are encouraged to apply even if they have not previously participated in the program.

The work zone package contains:

2 - ANSI Class II vests (Lime green & XL)
2 - Whistles with lanyards (pealess whistlesfor all-weather use)
2 - Hard Hats
2 - 18" Stop-slow paddles
6 - 36" Roll-up signs: (2 - Road Work Ahead, 2 - One Lane Road Ahead, 2 - Flagger Symbol)
6 - Sign stands
20 - 28" Cones with stripes
