Q: What are asphalt rejuvenators?

A: Asphalt rejuvenators are a class of products incorporated into hot mix asphalt to allow for higher amounts of reclaimed asphalt to be used in the mixture without reducing the long-term performance and durability of the pavement. Many of the products currently available in the marketplace have not been thoroughly evaluated in field or laboratory tests to confirm their effectiveness. Currently, the National Road Research Alliance (NRRA) is in the process of conducting long-term field tests to evaluate these products.
