Price Adjustments

Question: What are the current prices for fuel, asphalt, and steel adjusting for inflation?

 Answer: The prices for fuel, asphalt, and steel are adjusted monthly by the NYSDOT Office of Construction. Below are tables showing this change over the last few years for each commodity. These values are used for calculating payments under the New York State specifications, but can also be used to get a general sense of the changing prices in road and street construction and maintenance. These chart are as of April 2026.
