How can I find out the official functional class of a highway?

New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT) has maps showing the seven functional classifications that are used for Federal-Aid and other planning and design purposes.

You can find information on the functional classes and use the NYSDOT Functional Class Viewer to find the functional classes of highways in your area.
