Can a public entity apply some or all of their violation fines toward the remediation of a particular hazard or condition?

In certain cases, a public entity can petition NYSDOL to apply some or all of their violation funds to a particular hazard or condition as a part of an Alternative Compliance Request (ACR) or a Petition for Modification of Abatement.


NYSDOL will allow the use of funds in a remedial manner that would otherwise go towards violations on a case-by-case basis.
