How do I back up my computer?

Backing up your computer is as simple as ABC.

  • Arrange
    Arrange the data on the computer to make it easier to back it up. This will also make it easier to find files later. Think of this step as organizing your computer much like you would organize a filing cabinet.
  • Backup
    Back up the data onto another storage media or even 'the cloud', and store the media in a safe place. Be sure to back up on a regular basis.
  • Check out the backup
    Check out the back up to be sure you can retrieve the data. If you cannot retrieve the data, the backup has done you no good.

Follow the ABCs and your computer will be ready to a major disaster (or a minor one).
